LENIENT SENTENCES FOR PARTICULARLY LARGE-SCALE FRAUD ARE NOT EXCEPTIONAL

Head of the Practice of Criminal Law and the Process, Artem Karakasiyan, commented on the results of the past year to the Labor Law magazine.

According to the lawyer:... " each criminal trial and each accused is unique. It is very difficult to draw conclusions about the fairness of punishment without immersing yourself in the materials of a particular case. The type and size of punishment is affected many factors, including illness, age, marital situation, characteristics. Some of these factors are objective and enshrined in the law. Others are very personal and can not be described by dry lines of procedural documents. Therefore, nothing surprising, that with the same articles and amounts of damage, sentences for different defendants can vary greatly."

The full text of the material is published in the April issue of the journal Labor Law.
